Pipedrive Review 2026: The CRM Your Sales Team Will Actually Use

Updated September 2026Pricing verified on pipedrive.com

Most CRMs fail for a boring reason: nobody updates them. Pipedrive was designed around that problem. Everything in the product points at one screen — a visual pipeline of deals moving left to right — and in our testing it's the fastest CRM to get a sales team logging activity every day. This review covers the four current plans (Lite, Growth, Premium, Ultimate), walks through what the pipeline actually looks like, and explains who should pay for it and who should look elsewhere.

The Short Verdict

Pipedrive is the best CRM on our list at the one thing a sales CRM has to do: get reps to record what happened and what's next. Its pipeline view is the clearest we've tested, its activity reminders keep deals from going quiet, and the mobile app is good enough that field reps use it from the car. Lite at $14 is a fair price for a small team that only needs the pipeline.

The trade-off is scope. Pipedrive deliberately doesn't try to be a marketing platform or a service desk, and the features that turn it into a full sales engine — the automation builder, forecasting, and email sequences — live on Growth at $39. There's also no free plan. For sales-only teams that's fine; for teams that want everything on one record, HubSpot or Zoho fit better.

Bottom line: if your team has abandoned a "does everything" CRM before, buy Pipedrive. If you need marketing or a free tier, look at HubSpot first.

Who Pipedrive Is (and Isn't) For

A strong fit if you…

  • Run a sales-first team where the pipeline is the business — brokerages, B2B services, dealerships, agencies selling retainers
  • Have reps in the field or on the phone who need a mobile app that works
  • Want a CRM you can set up in an afternoon and never need an admin for
  • Prefer predictable, per-seat pricing with no onboarding fees

Look elsewhere if you…

  • Need a permanent free plan (see HubSpot, Zoho, or Freshsales)
  • Need email marketing and lead nurturing in the same system (see HubSpot)
  • Run a complex, multi-department sales process that needs custom objects (see Salesforce)

Pipedrive Demo: A Walkthrough of the Pipeline

Because Pipedrive is really one screen, a written walkthrough gets you most of the way to a demo. Here's what a new user sees and does in the first hour.

1. The pipeline board

You land on a Kanban board. Columns are your sales stages — the defaults are generic, and renaming them to match your process takes two minutes. Each card is a deal showing the company, value, and a small icon that tells you at a glance whether the deal has an activity scheduled (green), is overdue (red), or has nothing planned (grey). That colour system is the heart of the product: a rep scanning the board sees exactly which deals need attention.

2. Adding and moving a deal

Click "+ Deal," enter a contact and organization (Pipedrive creates both records if they're new), a value, and an expected close date. Drag the card to a new stage as the deal progresses; Pipedrive logs the stage change and time-in-stage automatically, which feeds the reports later.

3. Activities and the "what's next" prompt

Every time you mark an activity done — a call, a meeting, an email — Pipedrive asks you to schedule the next one. That prompt is why deals rarely go stale. Activities show up in a daily list and sync to your calendar.

4. The deal detail view

Open a card and you get a timeline of emails (synced from Gmail or Outlook), calls, notes, files, and scheduled activities, plus a "deal rotting" indicator on Growth and above that flags deals idle too long in a stage.

5. Insights

The Insights tab turns stage changes and activities into reports: conversion by stage, deals won and lost by rep, average cycle length. Lite includes the essentials; the forecast view arrives at Growth.

That's the product. There's more underneath, but a rep can be productive knowing only those five things — which is exactly the point.

Pricing: Lite vs Growth vs Premium vs Ultimate

Pipedrive renamed its plans in 2025. If you've seen older reviews referring to Essential, Advanced, Professional, Power, and Enterprise, the mapping is Lite, Growth, Premium (which absorbed Professional and Power), and Ultimate.

PlanPrice (per user/month, annual)What it adds
Lite$14Pipeline management, activity reminders, deal card customization, web-to-mobile calls, enforced two-factor authentication, 24/7 chat support; 2,500 open deals per user
Growth$39Full email sync and templates, the automation builder, forecast view and reports, sales sequences, contacts timeline, meeting scheduler; higher limits on deals, reports, and automation steps
Premium$64LeadBooster included (chatbot, live chat, web forms, prospector), custom lead scoring and data enrichment, team inbox, revenue forecasting, e-signatures; significantly higher limits
Ultimate$79Everything in Premium with the highest limits: 500 custom fields, 500 reports per user, 25 teams, enhanced security and permissions

USD list prices billed annually, per pipedrive.com in September 2026. Monthly billing is higher. Pipedrive also sells add-ons (for example, Campaigns for email marketing and extra automation capacity) and a 14-day free trial of the full product.

What a real bill looks like

  • 4-person sales team on Lite: about $56/month, or $672/year. The pipeline, reminders, and mobile app — no automation.
  • 10-person team on Growth: about $390/month, or $4,680/year. This is where Pipedrive becomes a sales engine with sequences and forecasting.
  • 25-rep org on Premium: about $1,600/month, or $19,200/year, with LeadBooster and lead scoring included.

Which tier should you actually buy?

Lite is enough for a small team whose reps mostly work from the board and the phone. Most growing teams end up on Growth within a year — the automation builder alone (auto-create follow-up activities, move deals, send templated emails) saves enough rep time to justify the $25 difference. Premium makes sense when you want inbound lead capture (LeadBooster) and lead scoring in the same tool rather than bolted on. Ultimate is about limits and security, not new capabilities.

Watch out for: no free plan, and email marketing is an add-on (Campaigns), not part of any tier. If you compare Pipedrive to HubSpot, compare Growth ($39) against Professional ($90 plus $1,500 onboarding) — that's the like-for-like match.

Features Walkthrough

Pipeline and deal management

Multiple pipelines (by product line or region), custom stages, custom fields, and per-stage win probability. Deal rotting alerts (Growth) highlight neglected deals. It's the most refined implementation of a pipeline we've used.

Activity-based selling

Calls, meetings, emails, and tasks are first-class objects tied to deals, with the "schedule the next activity" prompt after each one. A daily activity list and calendar sync keep reps on plan. Lite and up.

Email

Lite offers basic email; Growth adds full two-way sync with Gmail and Outlook, open and click tracking, templates, and group emailing. Sales sequences — automated multi-step outreach — also start at Growth.

Automation

The Growth-and-up automation builder is trigger-and-action: when a deal moves to stage X, create an activity, send an email, notify a manager, update a field. It's less powerful than Salesforce Flow and considerably easier to use.

LeadBooster

Pipedrive's inbound toolkit — website chatbot, live chat, web forms, and Prospector (a B2B contact database) — is included from Premium and available as an add-on below that. It's the closest Pipedrive gets to marketing.

Reporting and forecasting

Insights dashboards cover conversion, velocity, activity, and rep performance. The forecast view (Growth) projects revenue by expected close date; revenue forecasting with recurring revenue arrives at Premium.

AI

Pipedrive has added an AI assistant that suggests next actions and summarizes deals, plus AI email writing. It's useful and unobtrusive rather than a headline feature.

Mobile app

Among the best in the category: the pipeline, activities, and deal detail all mirror desktop, with click-to-call and caller ID on the higher tiers.

Ease of Use and Setup

This is Pipedrive's perfect category score, and it's earned. In our test account we renamed stages, imported a spreadsheet of deals, connected email, and set up the mobile app in under an hour. There's nothing to configure that a non-technical sales manager can't handle, and the product resists over-configuration — you can't build a 40-field deal form by accident. That constraint is why adoption is so high.

Integrations and Marketplace

Pipedrive's marketplace covers the tools a sales team needs — Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, Slack, Zoom, Zapier, Mailchimp, QuickBooks, Xero, DocuSign, and the major dialers — and the API is clean and well documented. It's a smaller ecosystem than Salesforce's or HubSpot's, and there's no equivalent of a first-party marketing or service suite, so anything beyond sales means a second product. For most sales-only teams that's not a problem.

Support

24/7 chat support is included from Lite, which is unusually generous at the entry price, with email support and a good knowledge base and video library. Response quality in our experience was fast and specific. Phone support is limited to higher tiers.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • The clearest pipeline view of any CRM we've tested
  • Fastest team adoption — reps actually keep it updated
  • Activity-based prompts stop deals going stale
  • Excellent mobile app for field and phone reps
  • Predictable per-seat pricing, no onboarding fees
  • 24/7 chat support from the entry tier

Cons

  • No free plan — 14-day trial only
  • Automation, sequences, and forecasting need Growth ($39)
  • Marketing is an add-on, not built in
  • Smaller integration ecosystem than HubSpot or Salesforce
  • Less configurable for complex, multi-team processes
  • Inbound tools (LeadBooster) cost extra below Premium

No. There's a 14-day free trial; paid plans start at $14 per user per month billed annually (Lite).

How much does Pipedrive cost?

Lite $14, Growth $39, Premium $64, Ultimate $79 per user per month billed annually, as of September 2026. Monthly billing is higher.

What is Pipedrive best for?

Sales-focused small and mid-sized teams that want a visual pipeline their reps will actually use, without marketing automation or heavy setup.

Is Pipedrive good for small business?

Yes, if the business is sales-driven. If you also need marketing tools or a free tier, HubSpot or Zoho fit better — see our small business CRM guide.

Pipedrive vs HubSpot — which is better?

Pipedrive is the better pure pipeline and cheaper at the mid tier ($39 vs $90). HubSpot is free to start and better when marketing and sales share one system. See the full comparison.

Final Verdict

Pipedrive earns its 4.3 by being the best at the fundamentals. It won't run your marketing or your help desk, and it makes you pay from day one, but it will get your sales team logging every call and moving every deal — which is more than most CRMs manage. Sales-only teams should trial it first; Growth at $39 is the tier to budget for.
