Pick Pipedrive if you are a sales team that lives in a pipeline, wants reps logging activity every day, and needs sequences and automation at $39 a seat. Pick Attio if you need to track more than deals, such as investors, partners, candidates or accounts with many relationships, you sell from Gmail or Outlook, and you want a free plan for three people. Above ten seats Pipedrive is roughly half the price at the tier most teams need.
| Attio | Pipedrive | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting price | Free for 3 seats, paid from $35/user/mo | $14/user/mo (Lite) |
| Free plan | Yes (3 seats) | No (14-day trial) |
| Sequences and automation tier | Pro $79 | Growth $39 |
| Custom objects | All plans | No (custom fields only) |
| Pipeline UX | Good (Kanban lists) | Best in class |
| Best for | Relationship-heavy, non-standard sales motions | Sales-only teams wanting simplicity |
Attio and Pipedrive both appeal to teams that have rejected the big suites, but they solve different problems. Pipedrive's whole design points at one board of deals and the next activity on each; it is the CRM reps keep updated. Attio starts from the data: connect your inbox and it builds a database of people and companies, then lets you define objects and lists for whatever your business tracks. The pipeline is one list among many.
Below we put verified September 2026 prices side by side at 1, 5 and 20 seats, then compare ease of use, the features that decide the purchase, integrations and support. Scores come from our Attio review and Pipedrive review, both 4.3, scored with the same weighted rubric.
Pricing
Both vendors price per user, per month, billed annually, with monthly billing at a premium (Attio Plus $44 against $35; Pro $99 against $79; Pipedrive monthly rates are higher than the annual ones shown). Totals are per-seat price multiplied by seats: five seats on Pipedrive Growth is 5 × $39 = $195 a month, and five seats on Attio Pro is 5 × $79 = $395. Attio Free stops at 3 seats and Attio Plus at 10, so any 20-seat Attio team is on Pro. Pipedrive has no seat caps or minimums.
| Tier | Per seat / mo | 1 seat | 5 seats | 20 seats | Terms |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Attio Free | $0 | $0 | — (3-seat cap) | — (3-seat cap) | No card, no expiry |
| Attio Plus | $35 | $35 | $175 | — (10-seat cap) | $44 if billed monthly |
| Attio Pro | $79 | $79 | $395 | $1,580 | $99 monthly; sequences, permissions |

| Pipedrive Lite | $14 | $14 | $70 | $280 | Annual; 14-day trial |
| Pipedrive Growth | $39 | $39 | $195 | $780 | Annual; sequences, automation, forecast |
| Pipedrive Premium | $64 | $64 | $320 | $1,280 | Annual; includes LeadBooster |
| Pipedrive Ultimate | $79 | $79 | $395 | $1,580 | Annual; highest limits |
The picture changes with headcount. Up to three people Attio costs nothing and Pipedrive costs at least $42 a month on Lite. From four to ten seats the two are close: five seats on Attio Plus is $2,100 a year against $2,340 on Pipedrive Growth, though Growth includes sequences and Plus does not. Past ten seats the gap opens sharply, because Attio's eleventh user forces the team onto Pro. Twenty seats on Growth is $9,360 a year; on Attio Pro it is $18,960, the price of Pipedrive Ultimate.
Compare like for like: Attio Plus at $35 looks close to Growth at $39, but Growth includes sequences, the automation builder and forecasting, and Plus includes none of those. The honest match-up for an outbound team is Attio Pro ($79) against Pipedrive Growth ($39). Also allow for Attio's credits: AI agents and enrichment use a monthly allowance and add-on packs start at $70 a month. Pipedrive's extra cost is the Campaigns add-on if you want email marketing. Ease of use
Pipedrive earns a perfect 5.0 here and Attio 4.7. Pipedrive is one board. Each deal card shows whether an activity is scheduled, overdue or missing, and every time a rep completes an activity the product asks what happens next. In our testing we renamed stages, imported a spreadsheet, connected email and set up the mobile app in under an hour, and the product resists over-configuration, which is why adoption stays high even on teams that have abandoned CRMs before.
Attio's setup is faster in a different way: connect Gmail or Outlook and a calendar and it builds People and Company records from your history, so nobody imports anything. The points it loses are for what its flexibility invites: custom objects, list-specific attributes and a canvas workflow builder let a team without a clear owner build something confusing. Pipedrive stops you doing that; Attio trusts you not to.
Features that matter
Strip the feature lists back to what decides this purchase and six items remain.
- Pipeline and activities. Pipedrive: the clearest pipeline we have tested, with activity reminders, the next-activity prompt, deal rotting alerts on Growth and multiple pipelines. Attio: Kanban and table views on any list with status attributes, tasks and notes, but no equivalent of the next-activity discipline. For pure pipeline management Pipedrive is better.
- Data model. Attio: custom objects on every plan (3 on Free, 5 on Plus, 12 on Pro), record references between objects, lists with their own attributes. Pipedrive: deals, people, organisations, leads and products, with custom fields. If you track investors, partners or candidates alongside deals, Attio is the only one of the two that can.
- Data capture and enrichment. Attio: real-time inbox and calendar sync that creates and updates records, plus automatic enrichment. Pipedrive: two-way email sync from Growth, web forms and Prospector via LeadBooster (Premium or add-on), and Smart Contact Data. Attio's database is fuller on day one.
- Sequences and email. Pipedrive: sequences, full two-way sync, templates and tracking from Growth ($39). Attio: sequences on Pro ($79) with unlimited sends; Free and Plus cap email at 200 and 1,000 a month. Pipedrive gets outbound teams running at half the price.
- Automation and reporting. Pipedrive: a trigger-and-action builder and Insights dashboards with a forecast view on Growth. Attio: a visual workflow canvas with integration and AI blocks on paid plans, and reports on any object (3, 15 or 100 by plan) but no forecasting engine. Attio's workflows are more capable; Pipedrive's reporting is more sales-ready.
- AI. Attio: Ask Attio queries, AI agents that update records, and call transcription on Pro, all consuming credits. Pipedrive: an AI assistant for next actions, deal summaries and email drafting, included in plans. Attio's AI is deeper; Pipedrive's has no usage meter.
Building a startup?
Our startups guide ranks six CRMs by what they cost at 3, 15 and 40 seats and where each price cliff sits.
Integrations
Attio scores 4.2 for integrations and Pipedrive 4.0, and the two are closer than the scores suggest. Pipedrive's marketplace covers what a sales team needs: Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, Slack, Zoom, Zapier, Mailchimp, QuickBooks, Xero, DocuSign and the major dialers, and its API is clean and well documented. What it lacks is a first-party marketing or service suite, so anything beyond sales means a second product.
Attio covers Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook and Microsoft 365 natively, plus Slack, Zapier and Make, and ships an importer from Pipedrive, which makes a move straightforward. Its API and webhooks map directly onto the data model, and workflows can push data to other tools without leaving the CRM, which is where it edges ahead. Neither has HubSpot's breadth; both assume Zapier or Make for the long tail.
Support
Pipedrive scores 4.5 and Attio 4.0. Pipedrive includes 24/7 chat support from Lite, unusually generous at $14, plus email support and a strong knowledge base. Responses in our experience were fast and specific; phone support is limited to higher tiers.
Attio offers in-app chat and email support on all plans, with a named contact on Enterprise. Documentation is clear. There is no phone support and no partner network for implementation. A self-sufficient team will be fine; a team that wants hands-on help at the entry price is better served by Pipedrive.
Who should pick Attio
- Relationship-driven teams that track investors, partners or candidates as well as deals
- Teams that sell from Gmail or Outlook and want the CRM to build itself from the inbox
- Founding teams of three or fewer that want a real free plan
- Ops leads who want workflows with integration and AI steps inside the CRM
- Teams that will stay under ten seats, or will pay $79 for sequences and permissions
Who should pick Pipedrive
- Sales-only teams whose pipeline is the business and who want reps logging every activity
- Teams that need sequences, automation and forecasting at $39, not $79
- Teams of more than ten people, where Attio's Plus cap pushes the bill to double
- Reps who work from the phone or the field and need a mobile app that mirrors the desktop
- Managers who want 24/7 chat support included from the entry tier
Decision rule: write down the things your CRM must hold. If the list is deals, contacts and companies, choose Pipedrive and budget for Growth at $39; it will be cheaper and your reps will use it. If the list includes anything else, such as investors, partners, properties or candidates, choose Attio, because Pipedrive cannot model them. If you are three people and undecided, Attio Free costs nothing while you find out.
Frequently asked questions
Is Attio cheaper than Pipedrive?
For up to three people, yes: Attio is free for 3 seats and Pipedrive has no free plan. From four to ten seats they are close, with Attio Plus at $35 against Pipedrive Growth at $39. Above ten seats Pipedrive is much cheaper, because Attio Plus caps at 10 seats and Pro costs $79, the same as Pipedrive Ultimate and double Growth.
Does Pipedrive have a free plan?
No. Pipedrive offers a 14-day trial, then Lite at $14 per user per month billed annually. Attio's Free plan covers up to 3 seats, 50,000 records and 200 emails a month with no expiry, which makes it the only free option of the two.
Which has better email sequences, Attio or Pipedrive?
Pipedrive's arrive earlier and cheaper: sequences, full two-way email sync and the automation builder are all in Growth at $39. Attio's sequences are a Pro feature at $79, though Pro removes the email cap entirely. For a team whose main job is outbound at scale, Pipedrive Growth is the better-value tier.
Which is easier to use, Attio or Pipedrive?
Pipedrive scores a perfect 5.0 and Attio 4.7. Pipedrive is one pipeline board with a next-activity prompt, and reps adopt it in a day. Attio's first hour is quicker because it builds the database from your inbox, but its flexible data model means someone has to design and own it.
Can Attio replace Pipedrive for a sales team?
Yes, if the team wants to model more than deals, such as investors, partners or accounts with many relationships, and is happy to pay $79 a seat for sequences. If the team only needs a clean pipeline, activity reminders and outbound at $39 a seat, Pipedrive remains the better and cheaper fit.
Conclusion
Attio and Pipedrive tie on our overall score and could not be more different in how they earn it. Pipedrive is the best pure sales pipeline we have tested, cheap at the tier that matters and effortless for reps. Attio is the most flexible sales database we have reviewed, free for a founding team and able to model relationships that Pipedrive simply cannot hold.
If your team sells and does nothing else, trial Pipedrive and budget for Growth. If your business runs on relationships that do not fit a pipeline, start on Attio Free and plan for Pro once you need sequences or pass ten seats.
